Angelina Jolie has recently set up shop in New York to work on Atelier Jolie, her new fashion…thing…that I don’t totally understand. (She explained it by saying it “is a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, pattern makers, and artisans from around the world. It stems for my appreciation and deep respect for the many tailors and makers I’ve worked with over the years, a desire to make use of the high quality vintage material and deadstock material already available, and also to be part of a movement to cultivate more self-expression.” I think you can also send in old…stuff…and they…redo it for you? Or something? Anyway, all respect to La Jolie, but I cannot imagine this will be a lasting undertaking, given that no one really seems to get what it is? On the other hand, when an ex of mine moved to the Bay Area to work at a new company called PayPal, I scoffed at that too, so do not under ANY circumstances, take financial advice from me. Annnnnnyway, Angie’s own fashion thing these last two weeks has been v. monochromatic. Let’s look!
