About nine years ago, Zendaya wore this to the Teen Choice Awards — a fact that made me think, “Oh, those must be coming up again soon then, I wonder when they are,” which itself led to me discovering they haven’t happened since 2019. Whoops. We loved the sext slouchy sparkliness of these stripes at the time, but our readers were divided between “Zendaya can sell anything,” which was a slightly fresher concept back then, and, “Nobody should wear PJs outside the house.” (We didn’t realize then what a minor miracle it would turn out to be that she didn’t wear Those Pumps.)
Regardless of how you feel about it, at least she and Law didn’t style it the way it was done on the runway:

Personally, I not only like the PJs on Zendaya — and I do believe the designer himself viewed them as PJs — but strongly believe she could bust them out again today and it’d still work. Law loves vintage; maybe it’s time to dip back into his muse’s actual existing closet for some inspiration.
