I think Rose Byrne had the most difficult lift this entire awards season. She was most likely not going to win many of these more major awards, but it was always POSSIBLE that she was going to play spoiler, and she was the frontrunner for her Golden Globes category, which she did win, and at the Independent Spirit Awards, where she also won. (She also won several smaller festival awards, a lot of film critics’ awards, and the National Board of Review.) This is a tough assignment: You have to look ready to win but not like you’re assured of your win. For what it’s worth, I think Rose and her longtime stylist, Kate Young, totally nailed it. Rose also won Best Dressed at the Oscars.
