Claire and Yara are in the 2020 Pirelli calendar, whose theme is Juliet — and in which Kristen Stewart — who didn’t attend the launch — plays both Romeo and his doomed lady. (FYI, I had to look up whether this thing is widely available, and it’s not; apparently it costs about $2 million to make, and they only print about 20,000 and give them as corporate gifts. That is… really something.) Here are Yara’s photos in the calendar; at the party, she looked utterly delightful in this festive green Gucci. I LOVE it, even though it comes with a minor surprise:
Even though they resemble lovely large arm-jellyfish, I find those… delightful? They are the one whimsical touch in an otherwise very retro and romantic piece. Plus, it fits like a dream, and is overall so much more uplifting to me than this:
Those bell sleeves ALSO feel a bit like jellyfish, but in a less awesome way. They look heavy and floppy, like she bought a sweater that is WAY too big, which is doubly weird because the bodice seems too tight. It’s The Vampire’s Wife, and I think it’s hoping that I will too be blinded by the shine to notice all that. But I see, my old friend. I SEE.
