Joey King wore one of these long duster button-down shirts the other day, and I was not into it — partly because of the cut on the dress’s bodice, but mostly because the tails poked down from the skirt and it just read silly to me. Perhaps that’s because the whole look wasn’t full-on costumey Thom Browne, whereas Yara’s is the whole shebang, and it needs that context. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still wacky — especially with the tag intentionally glaring at us all like that — but when you see the filmy long top with a full prepster jacket, knee socks, and shoes, the whole thing at least… feels more coherent, perhaps? A compliment you would not likely bestow upon my commentary here. That’s why I’m throwing the ending to you.
