What a win! England bounced back from my apoplexy about their usual behavior to pour in six goals against Panama, and I’m DELIGHTED. We have an England flag with us on our family vacation and there was a fair bit of running around while using it as a cape. Iran also put up a really valiant fight in what felt like — at least on paper — the closest thing to a Group of Death that this World Cup yielded, although it may bear out that Spain and Portugal aren’t as good as expected. Also herein: abs and so much writhing.
