Wills and Kate arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan late today — well, it was late in Islamabad, which is twelve hours ahead of us in Los Angeles — to kick off their visit, of which we don’t have a ton of advance details due to security concerns. Omid Scobie, over at Harper’s Bazaar, has a good overview of the tour in general, and I’m really interested to see what the next few days bring, both sartorially and otherwise! (The posts will be sort of catch-as-catch-can, simply because I don’t have a schedule to look at to see whether we’re ever actually done for the day. Exciting! Living on the edge!)

Here, for their arrival, Kate is wearing a custom Catherine Walker (really, her go-to designer for arrival outfits on tours) shalwar kameez (the dress or tunic over trousers look that is traditional in this part of the world). I think it’s quite beautiful — the ombre effect is lovely.  (Her shoes Rupert Sanderson, and at one point I thought they were flats, and I kind of wish they were? Kate is very good, in general, at trotting about in heels but she’s sort of walking like her feet hurt in these, and they are VERY high. I of course wish they were not beige, because I am nothing if not predictable.) (Her clutch and earrings are both by Zeen, the same Pakistani line that she wore last week.) (I love parenthesis!)

Look at these cute little noodles! I enjoy that Kate and this sweet little girl are coordinated.

Here’s the whole to-do:
