Ugggh, this one was a toughie. I have wanted Canada to take back the Cup for so long, cannot (for a variety of reasons, mostly sports-related!) root for a Florida team except in extreme circumstances, AND my dear friend’s family is all die-hard Oilers fans. But… the Edmonton Oilers have knocked out the L.A. Kings three times in a row now, and as someone whose first hockey love was the Calgary Flames, I ALSO cannot in good conscience root for the cross-province enemy to be the ones who bring the Cup back over the border. What’s a lady to do?!? In the end, I could only appreciate the drama of the Oilers clawing back from 3-0 down in the series, and the fact that my palms were sweating for the last 6 minutes of that game because of how intense Edmonton made it. Congrats to the Panthers, and get ‘em next year, Canada.
