Seriously, I enjoy Tyra so much — her Instagram has been FULL of shots from the Sports Illustrated shoot, many of which she discusses frankly in ways where you can tell her intentions are good even if she has an arguably inflated idea of how much she is changing the world — and the name change is baffling to me. She already HAS a mononym! Literally no one ever needs to say “Tyra Banks” because once you get the word “Tyra” out of your mouth, it’s done. MAYBE 0.01 percent of people would think, “You mean Tyra from Friday Night Lights?” Everyone else would think of her. Anyway, she and a few other folks you’ll recognize partied this weekend, and naturally she wore a beret.
