The live-action Moana is en route, starring The Rock as Maui — life imitating animation — and newcomer Catherine Laga’aia as the titular heroine. Auli’i Cravalho has been doing some promotional laps with them, including at this London event, which I imagine has been pretty welcome company for Catherine. Auli’i did this when she was only 15, and although Catherine is 19 and Auli’i is 25 and therefore not that much older, she can still be a mini-mentor who’s walked a mile in these shoes.
