This show looks like it’s trying to do what HBO’s The Franchise couldn’t: a successful parody of moviemaking, centered around a film called Duhpocalypse (in The Franchise, it was a low-tier comic-book movie). It has a small core cast — Seth Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders — and then a whole roster of folks playing themselves, so I assume Apple spent a small fortune on it. But my favorite thing is that at the premiere, in some photos, it looks like everyone is there for a show called The Stud. Which, to be clear, I would also watch.
