I unabashedly love The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, but my favorite thing about it is that these four young women are now all married moms who’ve spread out far and wide geographically and with their careers, but they’re still best friends. They completely smash that stupid timeworn narrative that women can only exist in catty competition with one another; just as the books are about a love story between four best friends, so too was the behind-the-scenes story of the movie.
