Carroll Spinney, the original Big Bird and Oscar, passed away the day after Sesame Street was honored at the Kennedy Center. It’s so sad. He was ill, and he was 85, and had lived one hell of a life. But just the sight of Big Bird’s loving, friendly face, and it makes me tear up for him. Big Bird was everyone’s best pal, and Spinney’s voice work with him was just perfect. What a legacy. We love you, Big Bird. We’ll follow you anywhere.
