The British Film Institute threw a bash to honor Tom Cruise, which naturally dovetails with the promo for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, which is also headed to Cannes so they’re clearly making the most out of one transatlantic plane ticket. I am thrilled Angela Bassett is getting paid for these, and also hope somebody out there has written her the role of a lifetime that they’re just WAITING to hand to her until she’s done here, and she’ll finally get that Oscar.
