This year’s Met Gala is on Monday evening, and so naturally we are hopping in our usual wayback machine to contemplate what people did a decade ago at this same party. The theme: “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy,” and boy, did very few people have fun with THAT. Some might be looking at this year’s invitation that says, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” and thinking, “Oh, wow, I really wish I’d enjoyed Superheroes when I had the chance.”
