Picture it: Hollywood, 2016. Leonardo DiCaprio wins an Oscar for The Revenant, against a field of competitors I mostly don’t even remember, although I liked The Martian; personally I’d have given it to him for Wolf of Wall Street, but then again he’d have had to beat winner Matthew McConaughey (meh) and also Chiwetel Ejiofor (much tougher choice), so maybe not. Brie Larson takes it for Room, Alicia Vikander snags one for The Danish Girl, and Mark Rylance is your Best Supporting Actor for Bridge of Spies. Best Picture? Spotlight, which won none of the other big prizes. Crazy year.
