Saoirse is in a film version of Chekhov’s The Seagull, which is alleged (in the reviews I’ve seen thus far) to be very well-acted but not a great film. I’d actually argue that the clothing version of that review applies, perhaps, to this suit. It is a beautiful suit. I do not know that I think it works as a look here, and that’s simply because I don’t know that it’s the best color for her. She’s just this warm butter color from head to toe and I think it all renders a little bland; imagine this in a crisp white, or even in the blush color of her Oscars dress. This whole look is soft-focus; what it needs is some contrast.
