Just as an FYI: It became obvious earlier today that someone — or someones — made the decision to electronically stuff the ballot boxes for Shania Twain in this morning’s Elite Eight match-up between her and Ellie Goulding. As I noted in that post, the pattern of voting for her after around noon today became extremely suspicious, both in volume and in speed, and after doing some investigation of our analytics and back-end data, as well as historical voting patterns, it was clearly due to electronic voting shenanigans (rather than, say, Shania Twain posting this on her Twitter or something that might skew the vote but still produce legitimate votes).
I still cannot figure out for the life of me if this was done by someone who loves Shania, or who hates her, but either way, we have a zero tolerance policy for this sort of thing, and Shania has unfortunately been disqualified from Fug Madness 2020. I am extremely disappointed it has come to this, and I sincerely apologize to those of you whose votes for her were legit, but let’s be honest: Someone getting disqualified for vote tampering in Fug Madness during a pandemic does seem very on-brand for 2020.
