Marion is in Madrid here, doing what must feel like her umpteenth rendition of Joan of Arc at the Stake (in reality, possibly only her third — there was a TV movie in 2012 and a performance in New York in 2015). Maybe it’s an old theatre superstition that every time you successfully play a role, you have to widen your pants. If she goes for four with this one, say a movie adaptation, she’ll be up to a hoop skirt on each leg.
