The top comment about this first look at Check The Tag was, “well, yes. on HER,” and I concur with my esteemed colleague. Because, well…yes, on her. And, technically perhaps on her and maybe also only from the side, because while that profile shot DOES really work, the head-on snap is less engaging:
It’s not actively bad but it is actively boxy and although I love a big giant men’s oxford shirt, this one reads way more I’ve Been Painting the House from head-on. (I’m sure Tilda Swinton would be very adept at painting her own house, though.)
This next look is a bit more Traditionally Chanel — although they’re both legally Chanel:
She looks like she’s invited me to lunch at her home on the French Riviera in the 1930s, where I presume a murder will occur and all of us will be considered suspects, so I guess…on brand?
