Sure, this could EASILY be the winning effort in a Project Runway* unconventional materials challenge where everyone had to use parts of their earthquake kit, and this designer managed to finagle the emergency blanket, and didn’t have to figure out how to make pants from a hand-crank radio. But please note: At least it’s the winning effort.
*Also, this is a good excuse for me to note that this season of Runway is surprisingly good. The last few seasons, it felt as tired as that old “this looks like an unconventional materials challenge” joke I just made, but the current one is actually quite well cast and pretty compelling. Some of the designers are legitimately good, and there’s some brewing drama that I’m interested to see play out. In case you were looking for something to add to your list.
