New Gucci is doing such nice custom work for Jessica Chastain, but the runway was pretty joyless. Maybe they’ll be like Louis Vuitton, where the dreaminess of the bespoke gowns far outpaces the clothes on the catwalk and we can only frown in confusion about why. I don’t love this as much as the one she wore in Venice, because I keep thinking it’s sitting crooked, and might also be low enough to need a slim necklace with it. But it’s still sexy and shiny, and almost looks like it has texture? I’d rather look at this 40 times than view the runway slideshow again.
