This is a mix of the usual Chanel tweeds with some stuff that is a little more obviously wearable than it tended to be in Karl Lagerfeld’s day. Supposedly this collection is meant to have the vibe of a Bohemian family wedding; Hamish Bowles wrote a whole lot of words about a whole lot of stuff with regards to Virginie Viard and her inspirations, but I will be honest, my eyes glazed over. It always ends up invoking Coco Chanel at some point, and while I understand that may feel inevitable, I also feel like… it’s time to move away from her in spirit, even if you can’t in name.
