Gwyneth Paltrow did — as many actors are doing this time of year — a career retrospective Q&A through SAG-AFTRA, which I assume they scheduled just in case she got awards buzz for Marty Supreme (so far, seems not?). For this event, she wore her usual pained expression, and a grey knit dress. I assumed this would end in a long skirt, or maybe with tights and boots — simple and chic and unworthy of further discussion.
Instead, she chose slacks:
She’s resurrecting her Gwyn label (through GOOP), and I wonder if these pieces are from that. If so, wow, what a misguided effort. If not… wow, what a misguided effort. There is no universe in which this needed trousers, unless she had an unsightly waxing accident or is medically prohibited from wearing nylon. And they are not even GOOD trousers, really? Although honestly, I can’t even tell, and that’s also bad advertising no matter WHO designed them. The pants don’t even look good with the dress’s shade of grey! That should have been easy! This is the most boring and worst of the options! SHE DOESN’T EVEN GO HERE!
