If there’s one thing that 2020 taught us, or reminded us of, it’s that Ben Affleck likes to get his Dunk on while wearing a t-shirt that reps Boston. Or perhaps a flannel. At the very least he’s not usually fully and crisply styled? So this photo really struck me. It’s all tasteful, layered neutrals, so immaculately considered and paired that the shoes even match the color of his iced coffee. he looks like he’s in a movie about a billionaire who, after heartbreak and a professional humiliation, chucks it all and moves to Maine and spends his time falling in love in small local bookstores.
He DEFINITELY has a cabin that he’s learning to refurbish himself from a local handyman who will soon become like a brother, and then it turns out that Handyman’s sister is the comely academic with literary wit who made fun of him for buying Dan Brown novels. He has even won over the grandmotherly crank who runs the local bakery.
This is from the part of the movie where he gets sucked back into Silicon Valley, and for a hot second almost throws away the utopia he’s built. What will he do? Well, we’ll have to wait for J.Lo and Ben to produce this for Netflix.
