Seriously, though, the theme of this show? Pirates. Some designers throw so many words at their inspirations that I appreciate the simplicity of, “Pirates.” Although that’s not exactly all that was said; Zuhair Murad told WWD, “Pirates stand for freedom, confidence and bravery.” That’s one way to describe marauding. I also have a concern that the lighting in this show made all the models look jaundiced. Wait a minute… are they all supposed to have scurvy?!? THAT is adherence to a theme, right there.
