Well, that week sure happened! Whatever you’ve got planned this weekend, I hope you can protect your own peace and do something that brings you some pleasure. As a housekeeping note, Monday is Veteran’s Day, so we will be taking the long weekend, but we’ll be back in business on Tuesday.
At Drinks With Broads, there will be no Tuesday newsletter thanks to the holiday but we’ll see you back in action there on Thursday. ICYMI this week, on Tuesday, we opened the comments to all subscribers and talked about the good things happening in everyone’s lives — plus the upcoming People’s Sexiest Man Alive, and our Distractables. (As you can imagine, the comments also got into the election.) Thursday, we checked in on the myriad reasons everyone on Doctor Odyssey is probably DEAD, and talked about our fave new celeb memoirs.
Here at GFY, we all spent our feelings at the Sephora sale! If you haven’t tried that yet — maybe do?

I’m fine with this: Tom Cruise wants to do a Days of Thunder sequel. He HAS been hanging out at a lot of F1 events. Top Gun: Maverick was great! I’m in. (I assume Nicole Kidman is NOT, but can you imagine if somehow the stars aligned and they made up and she was in it?!?!) (Yes, I know he’d need to leave Scientology [at the least] for this to happen. I am being fantastical)

Lainey’s Substack, The Squawk, also had some very compelling thoughts about People’s Sexiest Man Alive.

I really enjoyed this piece about Martha Stewart Christmas, a book I’m going to try to track down this weekend. (My mom might have one.) [Eater]
