I just had the WORST time remembering what year this is. No, I didn’t try to date this 2024, I typed 2014. To quote great American thinker Cher Horowitz, AS IF. Anyway. Commence screaming into the void. Please accept my apologies, Canada, for….[wild gesturing at everything]. I just…cannot…..ugh.

In addition to [wild gesturing at everything], I woke up with the worst cold; classic post-Oscars malaise! But if you missed anything on that front, you can catch up on all the red carpet coverage here.

And that’s not all:

– We had an extremely fun open chat for paid subscribers to Drinks With Broads during the red carpet and Oscars ceremony telecast. We had over 4,000 comments, which I think is a record for us on Substack. It was a blast. These open chats happen throughout the year for events like the Oscars — the next one on the docket for sure will be during the Met Gala red carpet, and then Eurovision, but we’re brainstorming other ones during non-awards season, too. They’re really fun.

– If you didn’t watch the red carpet or the ceremony — never fear. We did recap the highs and lows.

– And, yesterday, I ran down the best and worst step-and-repeats of awards season — one of my favorite silly post-mortems. One of them GOT WORSE, which is shocking because I gave that particular one a D last season. Heather also watched both the new Reese Witherspoon movie, and the new one from Cameron Diaz. Plus, of course, there’s Ben Affleck gossip. That man is messy!

– In non-Oscars news, Heather had a new Severance recap. We ride for Gemma at dawn!

– And there’s a fresh White Lotus recap. Greg is so SHIFTY AND DUMB for a conman/murderer and also I think Rick might be a hitman?

– Speaking of Walton Goggins, I love his house in upstate New York. [Architectural Digest]

– I’ve been looking at our sales stats, and you guys loved this suede Madewell bag! (I too love this bag, I got it for Christmas!) Anyway, I thought you might be interested to hear that it is currently on sale, and now they also have it in these Bottega Veneta-ish woven leather situations. [affiliate link]

– I was also delighted to see that someone bought this amazing dog lamp at Anthro. I LONG for this lamp, I just am not sure where to put it…I am living vicariously through you! I hope it brings you joy. [affiliate link]

– Useful! The NYT lists The 50 Best Movies on Netflix Right Now. [gift link]

– OMG, I LOVE this: Cutaway house illustrations appreciation post & fan club. [Supernature]

– Are Ralph Fiennes and Chelsea Handler dating?!?!?!?!!? [Lainey]

– Speaking of Oscars romance, Timmy Chalamet and Kylie Jenner seem REALLY happy together, and this is the most low-key relationship she’s ever had, in terms of press. She never even walks the red carpet for his events. I’m honestly rooting for these two. [Lainey]

– I chortled at this Reddit thread, as a member of the Diet Coke cult myself: “Restaurant Workers: When somebody orders a Coke and you ask if Pepsi is okay (or vice-versa), how often do they say no? What do they order instead most often?”

– Remember our discussion of totes recently? I LOVE this one from Alex Mill. It doesn’t zip shut but it does have a series of snaps. I also really dig their canvas pouches. No one is more of a shopping menace than I am when I have a trip on the docket. Suddenly I decide I need a million pouches to be an organized person. (I do like to pack this pouch because it’s technically a clutch for evenings out BUT I can put all my cords into it for the travel portion of the trip. Mine is old, so it doesn’t have that tassel.) – I agree with this! At Eater: Hosting Is Way Less Stressful When You Have Folding Dining Chairs. I just went and bought a bunch recently. You will not regret having them (and people will also be excited if they can borrow them from you). I have these from Wayfair and they’re very nice. Nothing makes you feel as adult as owning folding chairs. [affiliate link]

– Aw, this is heartwarming. [Pajiba]

– Perfect, at Town & Country: This Old Thing? T&C Reviews: Breton Stripes

– Fascinating: This Is Everything I’ll Eat as I Race the Iditarod. [Outside]

– I am neurotic about food safety – I LOVE Still Tasty to tell me when to throw things out, it’s one of my most-used websites — and ergo I obviously read this at Bon Appetit immediately: How to Safely Use Expired Milk. (The URL is SOUR MILK, which also made me laugh.)

– As a reminder! We’ve got a ShopMy storefront now! ShopMy is our new affiliate shopping partner. This won’t change anything on your end exception maybe make your life easier, because all the products we include in our shopping posts will live there too — so if you vaguely remember that you saw an eye cream or a skirt or whatever on the site but can’t remember what or when that was, you can check there and hopefully find what you seek more easily going forward, instead of like…randomly scrolling through old GFY shopping posts.
