At The New Yorker: What Calling Congress Achieves.  This week, I called my own senators about supporting Dianne Feinstein’s Keep Families Together Act (technically, Feinstein IS my Senator, so I called her to say good job), and I encourage you to call yours whenever you have something you want to encourage them to support (or not support). Related: If you haven’t been keeping track of the news that children are currently being separated from their parents at the US border, the NY Times has a good explainer about it, and what you can do about it.

At The Undefeated, Samuel L. Jackson ranks his own acting roles.

Over at Lainey: There are REAL CONCERNS about the state of the Beckhams’ marriage.

At The Atlantic: The Next Plague Is Coming. Is America Ready? (Spoiler: PROBABLY NOT!!!!) (Having said that, this is a great article — if terrifying. Fascinating, and beautifully done.)

At Celebitchy: GOD, One Tree Hill’s Mark Schwahn is a nightmare.

Per the Smithsonian, there’s a ghost town in California for sale! Shall we all just move there?

Pajiba asks: Which Actors Deserve a Career Renaissance?

I chortled aloud at this, at Revelist: “The Boohoo x Paris Hilton collection will range in price from $15 to $70, with designs reflective of Paris’ ‘favorite trends and fashion moments from the early Aughts.'”
