Real talk: I did hate SOME of this. But not with my usual face flames. Booth Moore, in WWD, said Stella McCartney’s line this season felt refreshingly pragmatic after having seen several others this week that felt like “contrived cool,” and that rings true to me — without knowing which runway show she was referring to, there has been an air of try-hard about several of them, and this one definitely reads more relaxed. There is still WILD stuff in here, including tiny little bodices that look like bras on a string. But even with those exceptions, I found that I picked up a vibe here more than usual. Look how cute that dress is up there! Up is down and left is right and Stella turned out some good pieces. I hardly even know what’s what anymore.
