This movie, based on a book, falls in that genre of warm-and-fuzzy tearjerkers — faith-based stories of courage and grief and healing — that would land it on either Disney+ or Hallmark, and indeed, Disney+ is distributing it now. It was directed and produced by Justin Baldoni, whom you might remember as Rafael from Jane the Virgin. I wish he had directed it in the manner of Jane the Virgin, with the same narrator and several appearances from Rogelio, but I suppose one doesn’t want to be pigeon-holed, even if that particular pigeon hole has a great view.
