Claire Foy had of course been a working actress before The Crown, but that’s the job — as playing the Queen is wont to do — that put her on the map, or at least elevated her on the red carpet. It was a weird and rocky start, but we assumed that was just the rookie bumps in the road; however, it’s stayed weird and rocky, just in different ways. It’s rare she wears something that seems effortless on her, and so while I don’t know exactly what change to prescribe here, it does feel like a little more experimentation is in order as her star continues to ascend.
