Every time I’ve seen Selena Gomez on a red carpet this year, I’ve thought some version of, “She looks pretty good — is this a particularly strong year for her?” Whether it’s the clothes or just her happy glow right now, who can say; career-wise, she’s on a hot streak with Only Murders in the Building and now Emilia Perez, and she seems to feel very cherished in her personal life. Regardless, some of this is very good, and seeing it in succession is revealing. For example, I learned is that Selena LOVES black, a little white collar, and/or any kind of neck adornment or criss-cross… and that, after an uneven beginning, things really picked up for her once Emilia Perez went to Cannes.
