I’ve spent a lot of time this year being indignant that Allison Janney isn’t getting more awards attention for The Diplomat. She and Keri Russell have had some electric, spiky scenes together and she’s really added to the show’s complexity AND soapiness, which I still think it balances very well. But her being good at her job is not new; she has been killing it since The West Wing, since 10 Things I Hate About You, and of course that time she won an Oscar for I, Tonya, or some trophys for Mom (apologies to Allison, but I did not watch that one, though I assume she is as great in it as you would expect). Ergo, what better way to cheer us up at the end of 2025 than with a gallery of Allison Janney consistently looking smashing? It was a treat for ME; I hope it is for you too.
