This is a lot of dress to deal with — does it technically look like it might actually be made of sea creatures? Yes. Might it also be what we call in the business “Formal Muppet”? Indeed. But it’s also glorious, a big beautiful parade float of a gown that is deeply, dearly memorable, and I think it might turn out to be one of the best ones of the year. (I originally predicted that we’d see it on Lady Gaga, but if you look at how it went down the runway, you’ll understand why I said that, I think.)
