After Gran Torino and The Mule, I am not totally sure I have a lot of faith in Clint Eastwood’s movies, but he’s trying for one more Oscar with Richard Jewell — the story of the man falsely believed of being the bomber at the Atlanta Olympic games, who had a nightmarish 88 days in the court of public opinion. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s editor is already objecting to certain aspects of the film’s portrayal of the paper and its reporters, based entirely on feedback from a person he knows who saw it. But there was a screening last night that was getting good response on Twitter, so we shall see.
