I am not being sarcastic when I say this: I truly wish I could wear this, and accordingly look this cool, every day of my life.
I would NOT look this cool in similar — I would look like I was wearing track pants with a work top, and y’all would be like, “how late did you stay up thinking about Tilda Swinton last night?” and I’d be like, “LEAVE ME ALONE YOU DON’T KNOW MY LIFE.” She just looks…effortless. Which is exactly why she’s our fearless alien leader.
Let’s take a close-up look of hair and make-up:
I love everything about what’s happening on her head. That lipstick is great (last night on Twitter, Julie Klausner told me it’s Candy Yum Yum by MAC, so go get some if you want it). Her hair is perfectly cool. Her lack of any other (visible) makeup — I’m sure she’s wearing foundation, brow gel, and the rest of the accoutrements required for No Makeup Makeup under red carpet conditions — is so elegant. Her shirt apparently has little tiny sparkly bits in it, which is exactly what Swinton is in my own life, a tiny sparkly bit in the herringbone of daily life. Sold.
