Brandon Maxwell’s grandmother owned a boutique in Texas, and he apparently spent a lot of his youth there. Now that she’s ailing, he made a show full of personal references to her, including opening with a short film of family photos and videos. Also, Vogue says, “The flowers on Karlie Kloss’s finale dress were taken from a painting he asked his grandfather to make in his grandmother’s honor.” It’s a lovely idea, and there are some equally nice pieces in here.
