Yesterday Jessica talked about some of the very intentional choices that Auli’i Cravalho made at some Moana 2 events; sadly I don’t have similar details about any of these. While this dress is extremely pretty and I wholeheartedly support it, I DO want to know what the weather in London is right now, that she can be on a night cruise along the Thames — or even just a stationary boat docked just-so — in a dress more fitting for July’s Henley Regatta. Somebody please get this woman a coat.
THANK YOU. Sheesh. Where was that when it was dark outside?!? She does look cute in this summery maxi, as well — I suppose when you’re promoting a movie that is set in Polynesia, it’s hard to figure out how to tap that Warm Ocean Breeze vibe when we’re (supposedly) in Biting Winter Wind season.
I might have swapped it: give her the floral dress for this New York daytime appearance, and let her wear the suit on the boat in London — though it’s not like this is a wool garment or anything, and the shoes are open-toed, so it might not have been all that much warmer. Surely she could’ve found a white boot in that instance, though? I apparently will note this to death, but the good news is — my seasonal confusion with these choices aside — she looks happy and nice and probably has another hit on her hands. As well as hopefully a few more outfits.
