We’re heading into the Month of Anya, because Furiosa premieres at Cannes today and then a week later it opens in Australia, then the U.S. And she’s fronting Elle’s June/July issue to talk about how it was an isolating shoot, although weirdly the most interesting part was this about Mad Max: Fury Road.

That last film made approximately $380 million worldwide and scored 10 Academy Award nominations, winning six. It was also a notoriously difficult shoot. After seeing the film, Steven Soderbergh muttered: “I don’t understand how hundreds of people aren’t dead.”

I know Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron didn’t get along — he sounded like he was awful — but that’s pretty damning from Soderbergh. Doesn’t make George Miller sound like a director you’d want to hire again, so of course, they did.
