We have another true-crime miniseries on our hands: A Friend of the Family is based on the story of a woman who was apparently kidnapped twice by a creep who was ostensibly close to them all. TWICE. I don’t want to be dramatic here, but I think this guy was a toxic friend. Oh, and the guy is played by Jake Lacy, who once inspired a whole article about how he always plays nice guys. First The White Lotus, now this… I’m glad he’s getting a taste of the other side, because from an actor’s point of view it’s probably a lot more fun.
