The end of 2022 seems poised to be The Time of Kate Hudson: In addition to fantastic early buzz for her part in The Glass Onion, she’s getting good reviews for Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon — a movie that sounded so familiar to me, and I couldn’t figure out why until Wikipedia told me it screened at Venice last year, and I guess this is the distribution slot it got. It’s nice to see her snagging grittier and campier roles, and although her wet-look hair looks like she broke her blow-dryer, it’s EXCELLENT that her dress here is so much better than anything she wore in Italy in 2021. If you’re going to have a career moment, do it without Mônot — a motto that should be on every stylist’s studio wall.
