My placeholder headline for this post, reminding me that this event was happening last night, read “Allison Williams Will Wear Something” and it was PROPHETIC! This WAS something. Something very festive and slinky and sparkly, like a streamlined disco ball of a dress. Something fun! Something good for a formal New Year’s Eve party, if you’re going to one, which I hope you are if you want to be, and I hope you’re not if you don’t want to be. Something that I wish wasn’t being worn on a black carpet because it sort of makes her look like she’s rising from the ground a la the Lady of the Lake emerging from the water, except way less mystical. But she probably doesn’t get a vote on that. I know I don’t. Or, actually, any of this.
