The Breakthrough Prize is sponsored, in large part, by Mark Zuckerberg, and both rewards and funds scientific study. This is probably not making up for some of the hell he hath wrought up on this world, but it’s something — and he usually gets a good celebrity crowd. This year is no exception: five Oscar winners, several nominees, some decorated musicians, and two Kardashians. That is not the beginning of a joke, although at some point in the evening they DID all probably walk into a bar.
