Cameron Boyce was a young actor who had epilepsy, and died in his sleep of a seizure in 2019. His family started a foundation for him, to increase awareness of aspects of epilepsy that include the sudden and unexpected deaths, and this gala — the third — is the big fundraising event. He was in The Descendants with Dove Cameron and Sofia Carson, and they led the pack here. It’s very sad; he was only 20.
