American Underdog is your latest inspirational sports movie, all about NFL QB Kurt Warner and the very cutesy “supermarket to Super Bowl” success angle. It was supposed to come out last year, but you know, Covid. I’m not sure why it’s being buried here amid the Oscar contenders, as it surely is not one? Why not release it at the beginning of football season? Sadly, Dennis “Dick Vermeil” Quaid didn’t attend this, but we did at least get Mr. Warner, his on-screen version Zachary Levi, Anna Paquin, and a very special someone at the end whom I believe you’ll be happy to see.
