As the leaves begin to crisp and the air begins to cool here in whatever hemisphere I live in (northern) — even if in only the most barely perceptible ways in Los Angeles specifically, where WE ARE STILL ON FIRE — a person’s thoughts turn to….dinner. More specifically, to the fact that soon, perhaps, we can begin cooking and eating things that require heat without feeling like we’re being blasted out of our kitchen. I was making my shopping list for the week today and found myself thinking with anticipation that soon, at last, I can start making this chicken dish I love again because it will be cool enough to turn on the stove.
