A few times over the last several months, I’ve read about about people having parties and asking their guests to wear that one item in their closet that they haven’t worn yet because they need someplace to wear it and said occasion hadn’t yet occured. I have a LOT of these items in my closet and no, I am not getting rid of them, because I’ve lived long enough to know that an occasion will eventually pop up. (Also I am a hoarder.) Like, I have a beautiful Oscar de la Renta day dress I got at a consignment shop fifteen years ago and I will be invited to a fancy daytime wedding eventually. This party is such a fun idea! Off the top of my head, I suspect I would wear this gold lamé quilted Michael Kors tunic top – it’s cuter than it sounds — that I bought at the same consignment store like twenty years ago and have not yet worn. (I’ve ALMOST worn it but this top is an experience and it really does require a very specific event. [The person in that Poshmark listing claiming you can wear it as a mini dress is OUT OF HER MIND, however. MAYBE if you have a very short torso; on me, it ends like a quarter of an inch under my butt.]) (Also RIP to Entre Nous, an AMAZING consignment shop in Los Angeles that no longer exists.) What would you wear?
