When people started buzzing about Cate’s TCAs boots, a Fug National was like, “I hope you get a picture of them,” and I immediately fled to our sources only to find that THIS was the only photo we had. “CURSE YOU,” I screamed, shaking my clenched fist at the sky. An angel poked her head down and blew me a raspberry. But then fortune and some red-carpet photographers smiled upon me:
They are snazzy. They’re Dora Teymur, and can be yours if you have a very specific foot size and also $570. She was promoting Mrs. America, in which she plays Phyllis Schlafly, which has a stellar cast (Sarah Paulson! Uzo Aduba! Melanie Lynskey!) and now the benefit of Cate Blanchett wearing stuff that makes everyone want to talk about her and what she’s doing. Everyone wins. And this Haider Ackermann outfit is snappy and super, but for the bronze waistband that feels a TAD random given how surprisingly well the purple boots fit in:
I love this photo. It looks like Cate Blanchett is handing someone their sorry ass while Tracey Ullman gives them the death stare and Margo Martindale just simply has to avert her eyes from the carnage.
