We had quite a weekend in soccer: Heavy faves Brazil managed only a 1-1 score against Switzerland and were bummed, whereas Iceland tied Argentina and was THRILLED; Mexico upended Germany in a move that would’ve delighted my very British dad (who was of a time when England was actually a factor in that rivalry); Spain and Portugal dueled to a 3-3 draw in a pretty thrilling match that saw Cristiano Ronaldo score all three of his country’ goals; Iran won, which combined with the previous score, means for the moment they lead Group B; and people took off their shirts. I may have buried the lede there.
